Mangalore, June 13: Our reports about these children have attracted quite a few people who want to their best for these children. These children at the house maintained by the organization called CARDTS and hiv positive have been written about by yours truly quite few times.
Last week A and B wanted to celebrate a new arrival at their home (not either one’s mother in law)! They decided to do that by arranging a lunch for these children as he said a grand lunch with these with D representing him. As you all know D does not have the luxury of being able to hide his identity. Last week on the 5th they had a grand lunch and the photos have been mailed to A and B. When C saw that he said that he wanted to celebrate the new arrivals at his home! It did not matter to him that these arrivals had taken place more than decade back! So, on the 12th it was one more grand meal for the children hosted by C. When E and F from, two journalists came to know of this, more particularly the menu- their mouths watered and they ran in to help!
D was coming back from a hectic tour of Tamilnadu and had his bag of godman tricks with him. When C and D reached the home he was reminded that D had promised to show something for them and so he brought out his bag, started performing the godman tricks and explain them. There was a very enthusiastic response for the students and also the staff. Last time D was there he had noticed the children chanting some shlokas before they started eating. When asked what was that the staff said it was thanking god for the meal. So, I told them that it was wrong to thank someone for a meal which someone else had arranged and paid for. So, this has been changed and now has been replaced by a thank you to the person who had sponsored the lunch! While I told them that I do not want to thrust our ideology on any one it would not be fair to thank a non-existent deity on which the donors have no faith for providing food for which they have paid with their personal hard earned money.
Last week the schools have started for the children and some of them were away when Vijetha had generously donated footwear for some of them. The remaining ones too were given foot wear and they are very happy with their newly acquired sandals sponsored by her. There are two girls joining college and their education has been sponsored by one of our own whose first donation of a day’s meals for them had put me into touch with these children and the organization.
Would you like to help? I do not see a better a way of sharing happiness. Some of these children have been doing pretty well in their academic careers and one of them has finished a diploma in refrigeration, one girl is going for computer classes etc.
