Mangaluru, July 1, 2023: Heading an educational institution of great repute is a rare opportunity as well as prodigious responsibility for an academician. Dr. M. S. Moodithaya, a renowned academician who was serving as Pro Vice-Chancellor of Nitte (Deemed to be University), has assumed the position of Vice-Chancellor of the university.

Before taking charge as Vice Chancellor he served the University as it’s Pro-Chancellor. He has also earlier worked as Registrar and Director (Global Initiatives) of the university. His earlier positions include working as Director of K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte and as Principal of NSAM First Grade College. He also taught at SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru, MGM College Udupi, and Mysore University, PG Centre, Davangere.

Dr. Moodithaya did his graduation in commerce and post-graduation in cost accounting from the University of Mysore. He has a doctoral degree from Mangaluru University and pursued his post-doctoral studies at University of Pennsylvania, US.

Moodithaya has published several articles in peer reviewed journals, published 10 books, and completed more than a dozen research projects. He has been a visiting professor to University of Pennsylvania, U.S., Erasmus University, Netherlands, Makerere University, Uganda, National University of Philippines and University of New England among others. Dr. Moodithaya is a passionate advocate for effective education and believes that it is the key to social and economic progress.
