Mangalore, Feb 19, 2013: He might have lost the race for the Grammy Award, but that sure will not deter this engineer-turned-composer from pursuing his passion towards music.
Arun Shenoy, a young man of Manipal origin, but based in Singapore, had earlier created ripples when his debut world fusion record named ‘’Rumbadoodle’ based on Gypsy Rumba Flamenco was nominated for the award in the category of best pop instrumental. The 2012 album took two years in the making and Shenoy had travelled across the world from India to Spain, UK, Canada, USA to collaborate with artistes..His wife Roshni Mohapatra is the Art Director for this instrumental effort.
Arun had his early education in Bangalore, but returned to his hometown for his engineering studies.But, the college rock scene showed this guitar player what he really wanted to do in life. Though he joined the Tata Consultancy Service after graduating and later moved to IBM, music production continued to be his first love.
His passion for music took him to Singapore where he did a Master’s degree in Computation Audio. He is presently working as a music producer and composer in Singapore and his productions include the genres of rock n roll, world-beat and new age music. Arun writes and produces music for his own solo productions but also for other bands and solo artistes.
Presently, Arun is working on a follow up album to ‘Rumbadoodle’ expected to be released some time this year.
