Mahabaleshwara Bhat, a senior banker who recently took charge as the Chief General Manager of Karnataka Bank, a premiere private sector bank of the nation, has already proved his mettle in the field by serving the Bank in various capacities.
A post-graduate in Agricultural Sciences, Bhat has over 29 years of experience in the banking sector. He started his career as a Researcher and Teacher in University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore and began his stint with Karnataka Bank as an Agricultural Field Officer in 1984. Since then, he has held postings in various places. He has served the Credit Department of the Bank at its Head Office, Mangalore, headed the Agricultural Development Branches at Banakal and Chikmagalur, was Assistant General Manager serving the Credit and Planning and Development Department and has also served as Regional Head of the New Delhi Regional Office and Mumbai Region. Bhat was elevated General Manager in 2011.
Bhat is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers and has a wealth of experience in Agricultural and Rural Credit, Retail, MSME, Corporate Finance, Bancassurance etc which will be a great asset to the Bank and help him in his new role as General Manager.
