Mangalore, Feb 1, 2014: The ‘Ondu Preethiya Kathe’ girl was the cynosure of all eyes at a book fair held in the city recently. The girl having her roots in Mangalore, and is ever busy due to her tight schedule, had made some time to be part of the Fair and have a look at the treasures of knowledge.
Yajna Shetty, the Mangalore born star has already proved her caliber in the film industry through her splendid performances. The cheerful Yajna is an alumnus of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kudremukh, SDM College and Manipal University.
How did this MBA graduate make her foray into the film industry? It was by sheer chance, says Yajna. She had taken part in a talent hunt contest and her photos which reached some film producers without her knowledge, thanks to her family, gave an unexpected turn to her life as an actress. She made her debut through Ondu Preethiya Kathe and since then there has been no looking back. The talented actress is presently working on three Kannada movies including ‘Kwatle’ where she is a slum girl. Her role is glamorous in ‘Sadagara.’ Yet another film is ‘Ulidavaru Kandante.’ Her performances in Love Guru, Eddelu Manjunatha, Kari Chirathe and Panchamrutha have won acclaim.
Yajna strikes a note of optimism when she says confidence is the one vital quality required for an actress to give a striking performance. And Yajna’s confidence has helped her win laurels including a Filmfare Award.
