In the video, she described her feelings of nostalgia and being overwhelmed upon seeing India from above as her flight landed. The actor’s departure from India was linked to a major controversy in 2015 when she was named in a drug trafficking case. Authorities alleged her involvement in a Rs 2000 crore drug cartel with her husband, Vicky Goswami.

Despite the serious accusations, Mamta Kulkarni denied any wrongdoing and was not arrested. Recently, the Bombay High Court cancelled the FIR against her, giving her a clean chit. The case has significantly impacted her Bollywood image, but her return marks a new chapter in her life.
