She said, “I have heard insulting lines. I have been told that I would never make it to the industry and that I wouldn’t be able to act. Someone told me, ‘You don’t have what it takes to become a Bollywood actor.”

Mouni Roy added that Bollywood is a fair place, but she also believes that it is a very difficult industry. She said along with hard work, it comes with a lot of challenges. “There is a struggle that you cannot deny, there are no shortcuts that you can take. Work begets work. When you are focused on your job, sooner or later you will land that next (big) role. That’s my mantra,”

Meanwhile, Mouni can be seen in Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2. It revolves around the theme of love in the age of the internet and the complexities of relationships in the high-tech era. The cast of the film includes newcomers Paritosh Tiwari, Abhinav Singh, and Bonita Rajpurohit, alongside Swastika Mukherjee, Tusshar Kapoor, Mouni Roy, Anu Malik and Uorfi Javed.
