April 17, 2024: Mouni Roy’s Indian looks are steeped in tradition and culture. Owing to her husband’s Malayali heritage Mouni Roy was seen celebrating the Malayali New Year Vishu 2024 with his family, which coincided with the Bengali New Year Poila Baisakh this year. It was cause for a double celebration and a chance for the couple to look doubly chic. For the occasion, Mouni Roy stepped out in a traditional kasavu set.
The white and gold saree set worked its charming effect. Worn with a gold blouse, Mouni looked as gorgeous as ever in her "Saree Girl Forever" vibe. She paired the saree with a gold temple jewellery set, flowers in her hair and her signature makeup style.
Matching the gold and white was none other than her husband Suraj Nambiar in a dull gold kurta worn with a traditional mundu.
Mouni Roy has always managed to fuse Bengali and Malayali cultures in her ensembles. For instance, for her wedding, Mouni smartly picked a white saree with broad red borders and gold woven patterns. It was paired with a red and gold sareeblouse. These colours are often picked for brides in West Bengal as well as Kerala, making it the perfect combination. For jewellery, she went with yellow gold necklaces, bangles, head accessories and waist chains. She tied her hair in a braid and once again, leaned on jasmine flowers to add the old-world charm.
White and gold seem to be Mouni Roy’s go-to colours on special occasions. During a temple visit for their wedding anniversary, we saw Mouni opt for a sheer white netted saree with floral embroidery work and a gold border. She tied her hair in a bun and added oversized earrings. Suraj matched her in a white kurta and linen pants.
