Mumbai Police arrests Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra in connection with ‘porn videos’ racket

Mumbai, Jul 20, 2021: The crime branch of Mumbai Police have arrested actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra in connection with a case registered against him for creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.

The case was registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act at the Malwani police station on February 4, 2021.

Businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested as he appears to be the key conspirator in this case, according to the Mumbai Police.

Mumbai Police said, "We have sufficient evidences regarding this. Investigation is in progress.”

MUMBAI POLICE BUSTS MAJOR PORN PRODUCTION RACKET


Mumbai Police’s crime branch have exposed a major racket wherein porn film production company makes pornographic videos of young women under the pretext of giving them a break in film industry. The videos are then uploaded on porn sites and mobile apps.

The property cell officials of crime branch have arrested a total of five people- three men and two women. Two of the arrested men worked as actors, while another man worked as a light-man. The two arrested women worked as photographer/videographer and graphic designer.

Reportedly, there are several such production companies in the city who prey on young women who come to Mumbai, hoping to make it big in TV industry or Bollywood. The companies ask these women to compromise and make porn videos featuring them, and in turn, they are promised a break in a big-budget Bollywood movie.

Bungalows are rented all over Mumbai for filming these pornographic videos, which are then uploaded on porn sites and mobile apps. Such videos account for lakhs of rupees in revenue for the companies.

The accused also used to release trailers of such porn videos on social media sites including Instagram, Twitter, Telegram, and WhatsApp.

As per reports, property cell officials of Mumbai Police received a tip off about shooting of porn videos at a rented bungalow in Madh Village of Malad West. API Laxmikant Salunkhe raided the place while the shooting of a porn video was going on.

Preliminary enquiry has revealed that the accused owned mobile application ’Hothit Movies’ wherein such porn videos are uploaded. Subscribers have to download the app and pay to view the videos on their devices. The company owns few more such mobile application.
