Mysuru, Sept 17, 2016: While the Mysore district administration is still at the planning stage of promotion of tourism during Dasara, a bunch of city-based musicians is busy making an album to lure public to Mysuru for the flagship festival commencing October 1.

Naavu Band’s song "Jamboo savari nodakke Neevu Mysuru Ge Banri (come to Mysuru to witness the spectacle of jambo savari) highlights the main attractions of the festival, including the grand procession, Yuva Dasara, food mela and jatti kalaga (traditional wrestling).

Munna, Anush, Shree Kanta, Sannutha, Rohith, Shruthi Ranjani, Emil, Kiran and Pragatha Mohan are the nine members of the music troupe. The bilingual video album, which will be released soon, also describes the cavalcade of caparisoned elephants, horses and cultural troupes.

Lyricist and band manager Pragatha Mohan says the album is focused on how people, especially from rural areas, are eager to see the idol of Chamundeshwari being carried inside the golden howdah mounted on an elephant.

Vocalist Sannutha said, "There was a lot of discussion about how the song should be. We finally decided to make it a mixture of all forms of music, and even adopted a bit of Bob Marley’s style. The song focuses on the arts and culture of the Mysuru city."

Munna, lead vocalist and guitarist, said the song has been completed and shooting for it will start soon.

Naavu is a Mysuru-based band that is popular for its folk songs.
