Mumbai, May 23, 2013: Salman Khan will be playing godfather again, and this time for Suneil Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty.
Reports have said that Bollywood showman Subhash Ghai has sold the rights of his musical blockbuster "Hero" (1983) to Salman Khan. Salman has taken over the reins of the remake which will feature newcomers Athiya and Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj as leads.
The project has not finalised the director yet but Salman has gone a step further seeking Ghai’s help to compose the music for the film. Ghai’s knack for music is well known as evident in the films of his times.
"Salman has requested Subhashji to help with the music. He has always been a fan of his musical hits Karz, Karma and Khalnayak," revealed a source to The Times of India.
With the "Hero" remake finally in tow, speculations over Athiya’s launch have finally been settled. The news of the starlet being a part of the project was confirmed by the proud father Suneil Shetty, reported Bollywoodlife.
The 18-year-old, who studied filmmaking and liberal arts from New York Film Academy has been in the news over her possible launch alongside Jackie Shroff’s son and Ranbir Kapoor, but nothing had materialized until now.
For Salman, this would be another endeavour of launching the newbies. Only days ago, Salman was said to be helping Katrina Kaif’s sister Isabelle with her Bollywood debut.
The shooting of the film is expected to begin after Shubhash Ghai wraps up the production of "Kaanchi".
