January 28: Indian Tennis sensation Sania Mirza’s is going through a tough period. After losing in both singles and Doubles in Australian Open, the 23-year old has now called-off her engagement with her longtime friend Sohrab Mirza.
The pair got engaged in last July but according to our sources they always had some issues here and there that forced them to end the relationship. Talking to the reporters Sania’s father and manager Imran Mirza said that there was a compatibility issue that ended this relationship but refused to disclose any further details. He was quoted by the reporters saying: “It was very much a mutual decision. Sania has already said there was incompatibility between the two and they both came to us. The families have been very close.”
Sania Mirza also avoided commenting in her personal life as she stated: “We were friends for half a decade, but found ourselves incompatible during our engagement period. I wish Sohrab the best in life.”
The year didn’t started in a great note for Sania but we hope that she gets her focus back on the court quickly as she is going to represent India in Fed Cup Asia Oceania Group II competition starting from 2nd February,2010.
