Sridevi’s First Death Anniversary: Family to Perform Barsi Rituals on February 14

Feb 8, 2019 - It has been almost a year now for late actress Sridevi’s demise. She breathed her last in Dubai on 24th February, 2018 due to accidental drowning in a bathtub. Her daughter/actress, Janhvi  Kapoor soon went on to make her grand debut in the film Dhadak and has also bagged two more films now. Now, as Sridevi’s first death anniversary nears, the Kapoor family is planning a pooja in her hometown.

 

 


As per the reports in DNA, the English Vinglish actress’ hometown is in Chennai and her residence is adjacent to late DMK chief Karunanidhi’s residence. However, as per tithi, the rituals for the barsi will be held 10 days before i.e on February 14.

Sridevi’s husband/producer, Boney Kapoor will be present for the same with his daughters Khushi Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor. Also, Anil Kapoor’s wife, Sunita Kapoor too will be here for the rituals.

Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor will be soon producing the Tamil Remake of Pink starring Thala Ajith and Vidya Balan in the lead. It was reportedly, Sridevi’s wish that Ajith should star in this ambitious remake produced by her husband. Latest reports also claim that Janhvi Kapoor will make her Tamil debut through this film. She will be having a crucial cameo in the film and the makers are making changes in the script to fit her into the role.

Sridevi, born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, was not only a known name in Bollywood but also in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada films as well. She is considered the first female superstar of the country. Her fans will always feel the void in her absence.
