Deepika Padukone to Play Ranveer Singh’s Wife in Kapil Dev Biopic?

We’re soon going to see Ranveer Singh embark on a new journey as he will start working on the Kapil Dev biopic. And looks like, he’s got some great company who might join him. Who are we talking about? It’s none other than his dearest wifey - Deepika Padukone. According to latest reports, Deepika has been approached by the makers to play Ranveer’s onscreen wife in the film. Apparently, she has even given it a thumbs up! “Deepika’s role requires just seven days of shooting. The filmmakers believe the part where Romi Bhatia left the stadium mid-way assuming that West Indies will win the 1983 World Cup final, and the difficulties she encountered in coming back into the stadium when India was on the verge of winning, can be well emoted by Deepika,” says a source close to Deccan Chronicle. With Deepika’s next film, Chhapaak going on floors only in March, she does have plenty of time to work on this project, provided the makers start shooting in the next couple of weeks. With Deepika playing his wife and Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing Ranveer’s coach in the Kapil Dev biopic, we think it’s going to be a rather stellar star cast. In other news, DeepVeer returned from their honeymoon last night. The duo was apparently in Europe where they ringed in New Year’s and Deepika’s birthday together. With Gully Boy releasing in February, we’re assuming Ranveer will go on a promotional spree with Alia Bhatt soon.
