September 22, 2022: Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested in connection with the Mumbai cruise drugs case in October last year. Several court hearings, lots of drama and 26 long days in custody later, the Bombay High Court granted him bail on October 28. While neither in the family had earlier opened up about the case, Gauri Khan has now finally reacted to her son’s arrest. In the 12th episode of Koffee With Karan 7, Gauri shared the couch with Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives stars Bhavana Pandey and Maheep Kapoor. She spoke about the case on the show.

Addressing the controversial case indirectly on Koffee With Karan 7, filmmaker and producer Karan told Gauri Khan, "It has been such a tough ride for him, and you all have emerged so strongly. I know you as a mother. We are members of the same family and I am a member of the same family. And, it hasn’t been easy, and Gauri, you have emerged stronger than ever."

To this, Gauri spoke about Aryan Khan’s arrest for the first time. She said, "Nothing can be worse than what we have just been through. But where we all stand as a family, I can say that we are in a great space. We feel loved. All our friends, and so many people whom we didn’t know, so many messages and so much of love. We feel blessed. We are grateful to everyone who helped us."

Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, is no stranger to the spotlight. Except perhaps the kind of headlines he was at the centre of throughout October last year. ‘Bollywood superstar SRK’s son Aryan Khan arrested in drugs case,’ screamed headlines on October 3, 2021, beginning a filmy saga that resulted in Aryan Khan cooling his heels at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail for 22 days. Aryan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast in October 2021 on the allegation of drug consumption.

Aryan Khan was cleared of all charges due to lack of sufficient evidence in the drugs case for which he spent more than 20 days in custody. He finally walked out of jail once the paperwork was complete. The statements given by Arbaaz Merchantt, who was also arrested in the cruise drug bust case, revealed that Aryan Khan did not have drugs on him and had in fact asked Arbaaz not to carry any either.

Aryan Khan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Cinematic Arts and Television Production from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California in the United States. He did his schooling in the United Kingdom and Mumbai. Aryan Khan has two siblings, sister Suhana and brother AbRam.
