Photo in nude photoshoot tampered with and morphed: Ranveer Singh tells police

Mumbai, Sep 15, 2022: Days after Mumbai Police recorded Ranveer Singh’s statement in the nude photoshoot case, it was revealed on Thursday that the actor claimed someone morphed and tampered with one of his photos.

According to the actor, the photo was not shot the way it is being shown.

 

The police recorded Ranveer Singh’s statement on August 29 and are now verifying it.

The Bajirao Mastani actor was booked for obscenity under Sections 292, 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 509 and 67(A) of the Information Technology (IT) Act. The FIR against him was lodged at Chembur police station.

In a complaint received by the police, Ranveer Singh was accused of ’hurting the sentiments of women’. The complainant stated the actor hurt the sentiments of women and insulted their modesty through his photographs.

The actor has been involved in a series of controversies ever since his photoshoot with PAPER magazine was released in July. The pictures had gone viral overnight, with many criticising them even as others applauded the actor for his bold move.
