Chennai, April 13, 2013: Nope, Royal Enfield has not introduced a new engine which is either hybrid or electric. They are still the gas guzzlers which most of would like them to be. But, the Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer has launched the Bullet with 500cc engine, a new shade, called Forest Green and some updates.
The new Royal Enfield Bullet 500 is an updated variant of the existing Bullet TwinSpark. Powered by 499 cc single cylinder air cooled engine, the new Bullet 500 also features better brakes thanks to 280 mm disc brakes with 2 piston calipers on the front wheel.
Other updates as per RE, include 19 inch shod with new MRF Zapper front tires for stability and sure shot grip on the roads, vintage tail lamp assembly features a classic design, an aesthetically designed new pillion grab-rail with a cushion end, one touch electric starter for ease, Royal Enfield Winged badge now in special silver and gold dual tone livery, and headlight casing features the Signature twin pilot lamps known as ‘Tiger Eye Lamps’ for that Bullet look. The headlamp is traditional but with a powerful halogen bulb to provide good illumination.
Royal Enfield updated these details on their website yesterday, but no mention of price was made. On contacting a nearby RE dealer, we found that the new Bullet 500 will soon be arriving at showrooms in the next few days, which is when the price will also be revealed. Until then, you can visit their website for 360 view and technical specs.
