Sonu Sood breaks silence after I-T surveys, says time will tell his story

New Delhi, Sep 20, 2021: Sonu Sood broke his silence with a statement after the Income Tax survey at his properties in Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, Delhi, and Gurgaon.

In his statement, the actor said that time will tell his side of the story. He added that he had pledged himself to the service of the people of India with all his heart and strength, and that he will continue helping people through his foundation.

SONU SOOD’S STATEMENT AFTER I-T SURVEY

Recently, the Income Tax department conducted a survey at Sonu Sood’s properties in Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, Delhi, and Gurgaon. The actor today (September 20) released a statement regarding the same. In his statement, he said, "You don’t always have to tell your side of the story. Time will. I have pledged myself to the service of the people of India with all my strength and heart. Every rupee in my foundation is awaiting its turn to save a precious life and reach the needy."

 


He added, "In addition, on many occasions, I have encouraged brands to donate my endorsement fees for humanitarian causes too, which keeps us going. I have been busy attending to a few guests hence was unable to be at your service, for the last 4 days. Here I am back again in all humility. At your humble service, for life. Kar bhala, ho bhala Ant bhale ka sab bhala (if you do good, good things will happen, all’s well that ends well) (sic)."

"My journey continues... Jai Hind (sic)," he concluded his statement.

I-T DEPARTMENT CLAIMS SONU SOOD EVADED RS 20 CRORE OF INCOME TAX

The Income Tax department claims to have unearthed tax evasion of Rs 20 crore, illegal foreign donations and other irregularities after surveys conducted at several properties linked to Sonu Sood. The I-T department conducted a search and seizure operation at several premises in Mumbai linked to Sonu Sood, and also a Lucknow-based group of industries engaged in infrastructure development. A total of 28 premises spread over Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, Delhi, and Gurgaon were covered in the search operation that was conducted for four days.

During the course of the searches conducted at the actor and his associates’ premises, the I-T department claimed to have found evidence of tax evasion. I-T department sources claimed that the modus operandi followed by the actor had been to route his unaccounted income in the form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities.
