Magician Dynamo has been criticised for his latest stunt - after wires could be seen as he ’levitated’ above Europe’s tallest building.
Yesterday afternoon Dynamo - real name Steven Frayne - wowed the crowds when he appeared to float above The Shard in London, 1,000ft above the ground.
But in some pictures the shadows of wires could be seen, appearing to hold him in place.
Dynamo previously caught the nation’s attention after levitating from the side of a bus while driving past the Houses of Parliament
Frayne had initially posted a picture on his Twitter account of grey skies saying ’the view is great from up here’ and invited people to ’look up’.
The crowds soon gathered at the building near London Bridge, as people took their own snaps of the stunt.
The magician’s picture was taken at the top of the 87-storey skyscraper that was opened to the public in February last year. At 1,004ft it is the tallest building in the European Union.
The 31-year-old magic man has yet to respond to criticism of the stunt, which was filmed for the new series of his popular TV show Dynamo: Magician Impossible.
Levitating stunts are a favourite of Dynamo’s. He has performed the stunt on actress Lindsay Lohan and comedian Matt Lucas
For the second series of his award-winning Dynamo: Magician Impossible, the illusionist shocked onlookers by appearing to walk down the side of the LA Times headquarters in Downtown Los Angeles
In a statement yesterday Frayne explained why he was there. He said: "I’ve been working with Variety, the children’s charity, and I invited some of the children they support to meet me at The View from The Shard as it is one of the best places to see London. After I finished meeting them, I decided to explore a bit further."
Frayne emerged as a star after Magician Impossible became a huge hit, with the series reaching over 30 million viewers in the UK to date and over 250 million viewers worldwide.
The new series, which Frayne says will be the last, starts on Watch on September 4.
