Mar 22, 2016: Street markets are often known for their huge selection of world foods - but this is really taking it to another level.

But if you do fancy sampling an I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! style street snack then why not give the skewered centipede a try?

And that’s exactly what this man did, when he bought four of the crunchy delicacies to munch on.

In the video, the man doesn’t hold back as he sinks his teeth into the insect, pulling it carefully off the huge skewer, legs and all.

Several people in the background are seen grimacing as they watch the man chew on the huge insect.


It is believed that the footage was recorded on a mobile phone at a street market in China.

Centipedes are important in Chinese medicine and are used in the treatment of tuberculosis and certain cancers.

The insects are usually boiled down, dried in the sun, then smashed in a powder for use in herbal preparations.
