Mangalore, September17:  Sixtyone-year-old Mehmet Ozyurek of Turkey has the world’s longest nose, measuring 3.46 inches , says Guinness Book of World Records. The 2011 edition of the book has been published priced at £20.

The latest edition is packed with tales of amazing animals and heady human feats, from the death-defying to the downright daft. Since it was first published in 1955, people have gone to incredible lengths to lay claim to the silliest of records.

The Sun, London has published some of  its ‘favourites’: 

74-year-old American lady Ernestine Shepherd is the world’s oldest female bodybuilder. She started bodybuilding at the age of  56.

33 inch tall Swallow is the world’s smallest cow. At age 11, she has had nine calves at Pike End Farm, West Yorkshire.

Australian 25-year-old Jay Sloot has the widest 3.1 inches tongue in the world. He is a water skiing  instructor in Perth.

More than 24 feet long reticulated python Fluffy at Columbus Zoo, Powell, Ohio is the world’s longest living snake. It took nine employees to lift her up.

Puggy is the dog with the longest tongue 4.5 inches  in the world. A Pekinese from Texas, her owner is American Becky Stanford.
